The Farm Bakery was opened 20 years ago, delivering wholesale throughout Northumberland. By 2010 they had their first shop in Amble, and in 2017 they opened a new store in Alnwick – The Farm Cakery. Originally, the shop was going to focus solely on cakes, but it quickly became clear that customers in Alnwick wanted the full bakery experience.

As the popularity of the bakery grew, so did the range of goods, with traditional bread rolls and traybakes becoming firm favourites.

The Alnwick store has gone from strength to strength, with loyal customers returning regularly and recommending the bakery to friends and family. Their social media support has continued to grow, with many customers sharing their favourite bakes and experiences online.

Jasmine believes that people choosing to shop local plays a vital role in supporting independent businesses and helping towns like Alnwick thrive. “It’s so important to keep a town like Alnwick thriving, and to do that you need to get out and Shop Local, Shop Northumberland.”
