Clark's Bog

Tucked away at the edge of Morpeth...

...lies a little piece of land with a big story to tell. Just two years ago a 12 acre plot of disused farm land lay unloved and wanting of wildlife. Now thanks to the vision of its creator, Peter Matthewson (and the elbow grease of his local community), the land has been transformed into a magical nature reserve, Clark's Bog, bursting with wildlife that draws volunteers, young and old, keen to nurture what Peter has started.

Woodland, marshland and of course the bog, now converge to form a wonderful habitat for 1000s of birds, animals and plants, but the real story here is not just the creatures of Clark's Bog, it's the creators. The success of the reserve goes to show what's possible when you live in a close knit community who care about where they live and about taking care of their piece of the planet, no matter how big or small, for tomorrow.
